Clothes streamed from within my closet like dirt from under a digging dog. I was piling up Goodwill donations, one of the baby steps that we’re taking in preparation for our nomadic lifestyle to come.

We’ve just returned from the TBEX conference for travel bloggers held in Keystone, Colorado. We were humbled by the amassed talent there (eight hundred bloggers!) and have much to learn, but that’s all part of the adventure. We’ve posted some photos here.
The Spanish visa

If we intend to stay in Spain for more than ninety days, we’ll need visas. My investigation began today with a visit to The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation website which, among other things, is charged with “promoting Spain’s economic, cultural and scientific relations.”
These are the people who will issue our visas and they’re interested in promoting a cultural (and economic) relationship with us. Cooperation! It’s right there in the title.

We flew into and out of Barcelona last month, then took the train to our destination in France. Girona wasn’t even a blip on our radar – that is, until we saw it drift by the train window:
The skyline enchanted us. As it faded from view, we vowed to return.

Our apartment lease is up March 31, 2013. We haven’t made a wet-our-pinkies-and-shake commitment yet, but we have begun research into becoming expatriates: living out of suitcases, borrowing lifestyles, and chasing dreams.
