Let’s take stock: we’ve taken you to the Costa Brava multiple times; we’ve introduced you to our friends; we’ve hiked to the hills, walked the wall, and rented bikes; we’ve even told you how we make phone calls and get mail. What’s left to talk about?
Girona is what’s left to talk about. Girona, the magical city where we live, the town we love, the place we call home.
It’s time to correct the error, and with more than a few pictures. Below, a video homage to Girona, starring Louise. We hope you come to love Girona as much as we do by watching:

Interesting that you mentioned the farmer’s market every Tuesday and Saturday. Our Eugene farmer’s market is also every Tuesday and Saturday. I thought it was some schedule that was made up for local convenience. Apparently it is a custom that followed over from Europe and the Mediterranean.

Rick, Saturday markets are commonplace in Europe, but the other day of the week varies from one town to another, usually Tuesday or Wednesday. Whether it’s Tuesday or Wednesday, one of the markets is two days away from Saturday, the other three.

Wow, Louise and Tom, what an excellent film! You two are pros. From Louise’s charming stage presence to Tom’s smooth camera work and beautiful choice of music – I love the whole thing! Move over Rick Steve, there’s a new team in town! I can’t believe we’ve never visited Girona, but I can assure you it’s at the top of our list now. All the best, Terri

Thanks, Terri! I’m glad you like the videos. They’re much more work than they’re worth, but the work is enjoyable and it’s a learning experience all the way.

Tom, I have to second all of Terri’s comments about the video. With Louise’s natural screen presence, your smooth camera work, and the overall quality of the video, it makes me wonder if you both have previous professional experience. As you may have seen, I’ve been playing around with the video on my travel zoom camera and experimenting with iMovie. And from the looks of my videos “playing” is the operative word. So I have a few questions: are you using a video camera or your travel zoom, do you use a tripod, and if not, how on earth do you keep the film so stable? And do you use iMovie, or something else? And yes, that it envy you hear in my tone. Well done Dude! ~James

James — You flatter me. Thanks! I use my travel zoom camera for videos. It’s about the same as yours (Panasonic DMC-ZS20). I consider stabilization to be the most critical of all specifications, and the Panasonic is truly inspirational. No tripod. I just hold my breath and avoid long zooms. (Hey! Maybe that’s a good recipe for life: hold your breath and avoid long zooms… )
Can’t justify the expense of a Mac, so I just use an off-the-shelf PC laptop and $60 editing software.
Thanks again for the flattery.
